Resolutions are notoriously hard to keep, but we have a good feeling about this year (we’re glass-half-full kind of people). As companies begin to plan on what the transition back to the workplace might look like in the upcoming months, we’ve been thinking a lot about how we can all resolve to make our workplaces safer, more practical, and as comfortable as our WFH setups. Your employees want to feel confident that their health is one of your top priorities. Below, we dive into a few accommodations you should consider.
P.S. For a more in-depth guide, we recommend checking out the CDC's Resuming Business ToolKit for a comprehensive checklist.
Resolve to… stay socially distanced.
It's clear by now that the physical space between people is a general rule of thumb for safety, so it’s important to reevaluate the layout of your indoor office space and adapt it to the restrictions of COVID-19. First, think about the office flow: You’ll want to make changes to one-way foot traffic and how employees will navigate common areas with the help of Floor Markers, Floor Circle Decals, and Floor ArrowDecals. In addition to modifying furniture, meeting rooms and workstations to be six feet apart, the CDC also recommends setting up barriers (like our Protective Acrylic Shields) to provide an additional element of safety.
Resolve to… be flexible and roll with it (literally).
If there's anything we’ve learned from the past year, it’s that life can be pretty unpredictable. When it comes to the workplace, it’s helpful to invest in fun—yet functional—pieces that move with your ever-changing needs. Our new PoppinPod Om phone booth can be rolled around anywhere in the office for a private, quiet space wherever and whenever you need it. The Mini Stow File Cabinet offers flexible storage and a seat pad so you can sit (six feet away, of course), stow, and go.
Resolve to… incorporate the comfort of home.
Being at home all these months have certainly had its perks: your own coffeemaker, regular cuddles with your dog, and your favorite spot on the couch next to the window—to name a few. Create a workplace that has all the coziness of being home, but without the distractions. A comfortable environment creates a relaxed and more productive team. To make the workplace more homey, try incorporating the cushy seat and firm back support of our QT Lounge Low Sofa, which encourages them to kick back, relax, and get to work. The Block Party's modular components offer endless arrangements, allowing you to create a lounge anywhere in your office. The Take Note Coffee Table brings the warmth of wood to your workplace for that residential look.
Resolve to… avoid distractions and find more personal space.
Got an open office floor plan? Resolve to help your team find more personal space for safe, private work. The PoppinPod Om is always in stock and ready to ship—plus, it's delivered and installed for free with our Free Rolling Install so you can add personal space to your office ASAP. The air inside each PoppinPod completely refreshes every five minutes, making it an ideal choice for safe personal space. The optional HEPA filter gives your team even more peace of mind.
