Account Executive - Architecture & Design

Mechanical Engineer

Poppin's Mechanical Engineer will assist with the technical development and performance of all product concepts originating from our New York Office; working closely with our team of product designers to provide creative and innovative solutions to manufacturing. Responsibilities:

  • Work day to day with the Product Design team to make concepts feasible for manufacture.

NetSuite Engineer

The NetSuite Engineer will lead system-related initiatives, collaborate and work across the business to understand requirements and translate into action. This role ensures NetSuite functionality is optimized to meet the business need and that users are fully equipped with the training and knowledge to effectively work within the NetSuite environment.

Experience:

  • Maintain the NetSuite application for internal stakeholders
  • Plan, review and revise configurations and customizations of NetSuite as needed in order to meet evolving needs of the business

Senior Production Manager

Reports To: Vice President of Merchandising

Poppin is expanding its product design and development teams to fuel its growth as the leader in fashionable products for the office. The Senior Production Manager will play a key role in building out and leading the Production function at Poppin.

The successful candidate will support Poppin’s brand strategy by coordinating the development and execution of products from design intent through bulk production with a focus on speed to market, quality, and cost. (S)he will be primarily focused in the near-term on leading production on Poppin’s furniture development but will have the flexibility over the longer-term to recommend production methods for a wide range of materials and products.

Essential duties and responsibilities to include, but not be limited to, the following:

  • Oversee entire production process for furniture from initial design concept through bulk production.
  • Partner upfront in development process with Merchandising to understand assortment goals and target retails, volumes, and delivery dates. Actively participate in weekly design review meetings to surface potential risks to target margins or delivery timing.
  • Review all product tech packs and packaging artwork for accuracy prior to factory submission and resolve questions/issues with overseas resources.
  • Maintain and audit library of production spec sheets. Proactively audit spec sheets to identify potential QC gaps and identify opportunities to improve product quality.
  • Own sampling process, including requesting and tracking samples and providing feedback on prototype, pre-production, and production samples. Track sample development costs on a regular basis to ensure we are within budget allowances.
  • Develop and manage the production development calendar for furniture and for the total company. Establish clear milestone dates throughout the production process to drive on-time delivery and negotiate timing with overseas resources to accelerate speed to market.
  • Create and track production orders. Partner with Sourcing to resolve any issues with product costs, delivery lead times, or minimum order quantities.
  • Communicate and recommend actions against production issues that may negatively impact Poppin’s ability to achieve our financial or timing objectives.
  • Understand factors driving current costs and proactively recommend alternatives to reduce costs through more efficient production processes
  • Manage one direct report with potential to build and develop a high-performing team over the longer-term.

Required Qualifications:

  • 4 year degree
  • 7+ years of work experience in production or related role with knowledge of at least 2 categories. Prior experience with furniture and/or other hard goods categories is required.
  • Very strong organizational skills and outstanding attention to detail
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills at all levels of the company, including US teams and with overseas sourcing staff/factories.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish new processes and lead teams to consistently achieve production deadlines. Exhibit high sense of urgency and desire for continuous improvement.

Wholesale Merchandise Planner

Reports To: Senior Manager of Merchandise Planning

Poppin is rapidly expanding its breadth of wholesale distribution to fuel its growth as the leader in fashionable products for the office. The Planner will help ensure that Poppin maximizes the growth potential of our wholesale business through strategic inventory and Open to Buy management, insightful sales analysis, and seasonal merchandise planning.

The successful candidate will leverage their analytical skills and experience to lead inventory/replenishment planning, sales forecasting, and other analyses across all of Poppin’s wholesale accounts and categories of business.

Essential duties and responsibilities to include, but not be limited to, the following:

  • Analyze selling trends to regularly re-forecast demand by category and SKU for each individual account. Build relationships with retail planning counterparts to ensure alignment with their forecasts.
  • Consolidate demand for the total wholesale channel and partner with Production to ensure that receipt needs for wholesale channel are met. Partner with Wholesale Sales and Production to coordinate when seasonal buys from each retail account should be confirmed to meet production lead times.
  • Act as primary resource for retail planners/inventory analysts to monitor and communicate expected delivery dates for On Order purchase orders
  • Create and maintain wholesale reporting (e.g., top-line and style selling vs. forecast, total stock levels and sales to stock ratios, weekly sell-through) for internal and external stakeholders. Provide the company with insights on the nuances of each account and develop ad hoc analyses/tools to meet the changing needs of the business.
  • Maximize Poppin’s sales and inventory performance with our retail accounts by analyzing POS data to identify trends by category, color, and SKU.
  • Actively interact with Wholesale Sales team and retail buyers/planners to provide feedback on seasonal buys. Proactively identify opportunities to optimize stock levels and drive profitable sales.
  • Provide support to the Sales and Finance teams to forecast revenue, margin, markdowns, vendor income, and RTVs for all wholesale accounts.

Required Qualifications:

  • BA or BS degree with 3+ years of experience in wholesale planning and analysis
  • Exceptional quantitative critical thinking skills with advanced Excel skills and knowledge of retail math. Aptitude to quickly learn new systems/technical applications is a plus.
  • High level of intellectual curiosity coupled with ability to identify selling trends, understand differences between account selling patterns, and make recommendations to maximize performance.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, set work priorities and processes, and proactively identify and solve business issues as they arise.

Photographer/Retoucher

Poppin is looking for a Photographer/Retoucher to join our creative team. Ideal candidate has a passion for tabletop, a can-do attitude, a secret love of office products, and a killer sense of humor. Focus will be on shooting and editing Poppin’s ever expanding product line. This is a full time in-house role that reports to the Senior Brand Director.

Job duties:

  • Photograph new and existing products ranging from paperclips to file cabinets
  • Edit, retouch, and resize all images for web, marketing, retail use
  • Shoot and edit short, beautiful, instructional product videos
  • Coordinate and facilitate communication with various business groups regarding new products received and new photos taken
  • Keep inventory and photo database updated and organized
  • Ensure accurate file metadata and naming conventions based on established departmental standards
  • Capture brand voice through photography

Required Qualifications:

  • BFA in Photography, Illustration, Graphic Design, or equivalent experience required
  • Have considerable experience with photographing product using strobe and natural lighting
  • Must have clear understanding of proper image formatting, editing, and enhancing techniques
