In April 2012, Ranford joined the Poppin team as Chief Marketing Officer. In this new role, Ranford is responsible for customer acquisition (making people happy), retention (keeping people happy) and branding initiatives across all channels.

Before Poppin, Ranford was the Vice President of Online Marketing, Mobile & Social Media for 1-800-FLOWERS. There he was responsible for creating and leading the strategic marketing vision, with a keen focus on leveraging new and emerging channels to drive profitable customer acquisition and retention programs. As a first-mover in Mobile Commerce, Ranford and his team won several awards for best-in-class user experience and innovation in Mobile Marketing and Technology. Similarly in Social Media, 1-800-FLOWERS was the first in its category to implement a Social Commerce program, and was featured in Facebook’s case studies for best-of-breed social media campaigns.

Prior to Flowers, Ranford was the Senior Marketing Manager at ProFlowers. Before filling his days with flowers and gifts, Ranford was Senior Marketing Manager at one of the first Internet research firms, Jupiter Research, helping build the brand to IPO and merge with Media Metrix.

Last but not least, Ranford served on the Advisory Board of Send The Trend, a subscription based e-commerce site for accessories and beauty that was acquired by QVC in February, 2012.

Besides exclusively speaking about himself in the 3rd-person, Ranford is also famous for his “Ranford Roast.” It’s a particularly bold brew that keeps Pop Heads whistling-while-they-work all day long.
